MY STORY
Hair has always been more than just hair to me. It’s confidence. It’s healing. It’s transformation. And for the women in my chair, it’s often the first step to feeling like themselves again.
I’ve been a hairstylist for over 13 years, and it wasn’t long into my career that I fell in love with extensions. But what I didn’t love was the inconsistency: poor quality, inflated prices, and a complete lack of transparency. Stylists were overpaying for hair that didn’t perform, and clients were left disappointed. I knew there had to be something better, and I was willing to go find it.
I traveled to China — twice.
The first time, I trusted the wrong person. A well-known brand owner took me on a trip that led nowhere. I was shown low-quality, mass-produced hair in dusty warehouses, and I came home having wasted thousands of dollars and precious time. But I wasn’t done. I couldn’t be. I kept searching, kept asking, and kept investing.
The second time I went, everything changed, because I got to bring my mom, Leticia, with me.
We experienced China together, and I got to see the process all over again through her eyes. We watched the extension journey from start to finish, and the level of detail, precision, and labor involved was humbling. It made me value this craft on a whole new level. The wefts we wear come from hours of careful, skilled work. That trip reminded me why this mission matters.
